Lex van Vught has given notice of his intention to resign as a Director and Chairman of the Company with effect from the close of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on 14 February 2012.
Lex van Vught has advised the Company that having served as a Director of the Company since 2003 and as Chairman since 2006, he believes it is appropriate to stand down.
After careful consideration of external and internal candidates for the position of Chairman of the Company, the Board of Tiger Brands has appointed André Parker as Chairman of the Company with effect from the close of the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on 14 February 2012.
André Parker has been a director of Tiger Brands since 2007. André has had significant experience in consumer brands having held the position of Managing Director for Africa and Asia of SABMiller plc. He is a director of Distell Limited and is Chairman of TSB Sugar.
The Board is greatly appreciative of the significant contribution that Lex van Vught has made to the Company as Director and Chairman.
