Tiger Brands today announced the appointment of Olufunke “Funke” Ighodaro to the position of Chief Financial Officer and executive director with effect from 1 June 2011.

Funke is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Primedia Pty Ltd, a position she has held since September 2001. She was previously an Executive Director of Kagiso Trust Investment Company and worked in corporate finance at Standard Corporate and Merchant Bank for two years. Funke qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, London, where she spent a total of ten years in audit and tax and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Funke is also an independent non-executive director of Datatec Limited.

In making the announcement Tiger Brands CEO – Mr Peter Matlare said, “We are pleased to have Funke join us. She brings considerable domestic and international experience and talent. We are confident that her appointment will make a meaningful contribution to the company’s success.”
